Samara is a Tsarist resort city on the Upper Volga later used for aeronautical manufacturing & research by the USSR. The brief involved the development of a large, highly-polluted inner city site to provide retail, residential, commercial and governmental facilities. After initial concept design with input from both the USA and Russia, the scheme was developed to provide a mixed-use masterplan to suit the client's brief.
